在WWDC時老人沒聽出使用何技術，但目前已知其使用雙麥克風（可能是Knowles S885 MEMS微機電系統），利用先進的背景消音技術，“自動感應波束形成數算技術 adaptive beam-forming algorithm technology ”來讓FaceTime時的聲音更清晰，和應付Moutain Lion的聽寫能力的正確。
目前的評價都相當好，譬如見Laptop mag：“For its size and weight no other notebook on the market sounds better. Apple deserves serious credit for the dual speakers integrated into the new MacBook Pro. Not only did they get surprisingly -- almost alarmingly -- loud during our testing, but they offered a full and rich sound. When playing "Iris" by The Goo Goo Dolls on Pandora, we easily filled our hotel room with audio sans distortion, and we could make out finer details such as the louder plucks on the guitar strings.
